178 New Covid-19 Cases Recorded as Death Toll Rises to 85

The Ministry of Health has on Wednesday confirmed 178 new COVID-19 cases in Uganda bringing the cumulative total number of confirmed infections in the country to 9,260.

1 new COVID-19 fatality has been recorded from Jinja.

“Results from COVID-19 tests done on 6th October 2020; 178 new COVID-19 cases confirmed. The cumulative confirmed cases of Ugandans are now 9,260,” the Health Ministry announced.

The new cases include 176 contacts and alerts, 1 returnee and 1 truck driver.

These include; 31 from Kampala, 28 from Moroto, 28 from Kotido, 25 from Kiryandongo, 9 from Mukono, 7 from Napak, 7 from Rubanda, 8 from Kaberamaido, 6 from Wakiso, 6 from Moyo, 3 from Katakwi, 3 from Soroti, 4 from Amuru, 2 from Buvuma, 2 from Gomba, 1 from Buikwe, 2 from Jinja, 1 from Kaabong, 1 from Kisoro, from Nakapiripirit and 1 from Ntungamo.

The returnee who tested positive for COVID-19 arrived from Tanzania while the 1 truck driver arrived from Malaba.

Currently, Uganda has a cumulative total of 9,260 COVID-19 confirmed cases, 5,588 recoveries and 85 fatalities.
