Police in Kampala have revealed that they are looking for two ladies reported to be running a cartel in sex trade and staging sex parties in Kampala city and its suburbs.
This investigation follows the weekend sting operation in which Kira Police Division burst a sex party which was organised in Kireka, Kira Municipality.
A total of 21 people including men and women were caught read handed having group sex while drinking heavily, “an act likely to lead to the spread of an infectious disease, in this case Covid-19” as they were later charged.
“When we interrogated them, they revealed that their services are solicited by a one Anita Kays who is the prime suspect. She has been actively involved in organising such events over the weekends in different locations,” said Police spokesperson Fred Enanga.
The other suspect on the wanted list by police is only known as “Panadol” and she is said to run a popular brothel in Kawaala, Rubaga division, Kampala.
According to police, among the suspects arrested on Saturday is a female juvenile who was victimized for being one of those recruited and were being groomed for prostitution, an act which is against the laws of Uganda.
She confessed to Police that on that day before arrest, she had sexually attended to 4 male customers and also revealed that even her young sister aged 14 years was already actively involved in prostitution.
She further revealed to detectives that it’s their elder sister identified as Prossy Nabukenya who recruited them into the sex trade, and Police has since arrested her.
Enanga said that Prossy has been charged with aggravated trafficking of children, grooming them into prostitutes and promoting pornography.
Apparently, the two juveniles have been taken to shelter by Police’s Child and Family Protection Unit where they are undergoing rehabilitation.
Meanwhile, Police advised parents to take extra care of their children by monitoring especially what they consume on social media since sexual predators are utilizing online platforms.
