Lumumba: No Crowds for Museveni’s Nomination

National Resistance Movement party Secretary General, Justin Kasule Lumumba on Sunday announced that the Secretariat is ready to present President Yoweri Museveni for presidential candidate nomination on Monday at Kyambogo University. 

While addressing the Media at the Party headquarters Kyaddondo, Lumumba said the party has under taken all necessary arrangements to make sure Museveni is nominated to participate in the 2021 general elections.

“I will officially present the Party’s Candidate to the Electoral Commission for nomination tomorrow at exactly 10:00am,” said Lumumba.

Museveni and Lumumba are expected to travel in a signature yellow bus, which is the official symbol of NRM party.

“There will be no processions and the public is hereby urged to abide by the EC and the Security guidelines attached to this exercise. Our members are however reminded to don yellow colours from their respective stations and follow the event live on all major media Houses,” said Lumumba. 

Other presidential candidates scheduled to be nominated are; Lt. Gen. Henry Tumukunde on Independent ticket, Maj. Gen. Mugisha Muntu of Alliance for National Transformation, John Katumba (Independent), and Nancy Kalemba Linda also on Independent ticket.
