Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) will host it’s CAF Confederation Cup return leg duel against AS Kigali from St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende, the home of arch-rivals Vipers SC.
The development comes after CAF declared the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo ineligible to host this season’s CAF games after inspection.
CAF only accredited two venues in Mandela National stadium, Namboole and the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende which were deemed it fit to host continental game, a decision that forced KCCA to opt for Kitende grounds for the return leg game against AS Kigali since former is not available for use.
The Kasassiro Boys lost the first leg game (2-0) by boardroom decision following their failure to raise the required number of players (14) for the match.
The blow resulted from the escalation of many COVID-19 cases in the team’s camp that called for CAF’s ruling.
KCCA will need to overturn the defeat by a three goals margin to advance the final qualification round to stand a chance to advance to the group stages.
