Police Intercept 60 Illegal Rwandese, Congolese Nationals in Kabale

Police in Kabale district have arrested 60 people for illegal entry and stay in Uganda, Chimp Corps report.

According to reports, the arrested were nabbed in an intelligence led operation that took place at Kabale bus park on Tuesday morning.

Out of the total number, 47 of the suspects were intercepted from Jussy coach registration number UAS 290Y T/ Isuzu which was heading to Kampala while 13 were intercepted from Malaika Bus on Monday from Kisoro district.

“Among the 60 suspects, 50 are Rwandan nationals and 19 Congolese,” police indicated in a statement.

These are reported to have used porous borders to enter the country and were heading to Buganda and Bunyoro regions for casual laboring, something security agencies say cannot be allowed and tolerated “as if there are no policies regarding entry and exit of people.”

Meanwhile, inquiries have been completed and the suspects will be taken to courts of law to answer charges accordingly vide Kabale CRB 025/2021.
