Mukono: Man Committed to High Court for Stealing Shs 10,000

Mukono Grade One Magistrate Patience Kabalunga has committed Kitaka Ivan, 49, to High Court for trial on charges of Aggravated Robbery.

The matter appeared for mention in Court today, Friday January 22, but the state prosecution presented committal papers informing court that investigations into the matter had been completed.

The Magistrate, thereafter, read afresh the indictment to the accused person who was appearing in court via zoom from Kitalya prison.

She informed him that his matter will be heard in the next High Court convenient session.

It’s alleged that on September 23, 2020 at Kyawanvubu in Namataba Town Council, Kitaka robbed Shs 10,000 from a one Nambalirwa Eve using a panga, “a deadly weapon.”

The case file also indicates that Kitaka, on the same date in Namataba Town Council, raped a one Achieng Agnes.
