MP Karuhanga’s Father Wins Ntungamo Mayoral Seat

Jacob Kafureka, the longest serving mayor for Ntungamo municipality has retained his seat.

The returning officer of Ntungamo district Latiff Ngonzi on Monday declared the NRM flag bearer also known as Jack Jex as the newly elected mayor for Ntungamo municipality.

Kafureka is the father to the outgoing Ntungamo Municipality MP Gerald Karuhanga.

He was the first LCIII Chairperson for Ntungamo town council serving from 1994-2001, and later in 2011 when it became a municipality.

Kafureeka gaernered 3331 votes followed by Hajj Hakim Rwomushana with 1486 votes, Perez Katabarwa with 480, and Agaba Benjamin with 127 votes.
