1 Mins read

Police in Mukono are hunting for a local councilor for reportedly knocking down a police officer and a Returning Officer in a “deliberate accident”.

The councilor on the run was identified as Hakim Senfuka and he committed the offence on February 3, 2021.

According to KMP deputy Police spokesperson ASP Luke Owoyesigire, the suspect is wanted for attempted murder of ASP Culture Wilber, the OC Nama Police Station alongside two other individuals Sylvia Ssebusinde, a presiding officer and another victim, yet to be identified.

Owoyesigire said Ssenfuka Hakim, who was driving motor vehicle UBA 099H, blue in colour, deliberately knocked the victims down while they rode on motorcycle UP 7840.

The Police report indicates that Ssenfuuka’s actions were a deliberate act, following election related malpractices in which the presiding officer, Sylvia Ssebusinde, was allegedly involved, and was consequently arrested by the OC, who was riding with her to the Police Station before they were knocked.

“The OC-ASP Culture, together with the two victims are currently in hospital and out of danger,” said Police.

Apparently, Police revealed that it is also looking into the allegations of the electoral malpractice allegedly committed by the presiding officer.
