IUIU Announces Reopening Dates for Finalists, Continuing Students

Students who are in their final year at Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) shall report to campus on March 15, 2021, Dr. Halima Wakabi Akbar, the Universisty Academic Registrar has said.

Dr. Akbar said, in the new 2020/21 academic year calendar addressed to all students, that this has been done following guidance from the President for Higher Institutions of Learning to resume teaching and learning in a phased manner.

President Yoweri Museveni on Thursday February 4, made a pronouncement that semi candidate classes can resume studying since the candidates will be finishing soon.

He also allowed the reopening of Universities and Tertiary Institutions.

“The universities and tertiary institutions will open in March in a staggered way, the good thing is, the universities are already teaching online,” he said.

In the academic year calendar seen by ChimpReports, Dr. Akbar said, “Continuing students shall report on Campus on Saturday 27th February 2021, students who are not in their final year of study fall in this category.”

The batch that will remain at home will study online, according to Dr. Akbar.

She also announced that lectures and registration of students will begin online for all students.

“Normal registration ends on Sunday 7th February, 2021 and late registration starts on Monday 8th February 2021 and ends on Sunday 14th February 2021,” she said.

According to Dr. Akbar, the four months semester will officially end on June 6, 2021.
