FUFA Women Elite League entity, Asubo Gafford Ladies WFC has confirmed four new signings heading into the 2020/2021 season.
Midfielder Madinah Nakaayi Yawe, forwards Namagembe Aisha, and Aida Abiine along with Nakawesa Viola are the players that have been unveiled by the club Chief Executive Officer Kayima Huzairo.
The duo of Madinah Nakaayi and Namagembe Aisha joins the club from Masindi based side Lady Doves, each signing a two year contract.
“I joined Asubo Gafford Ladies because people make change or choices so I was not forced out of Lady doves and its not a bad team but I wanted to get a new challenge. My promise to the fans is to expect an amazing lefty on the pitch, giving my level her best with an aim of bringing the team in the Women Super League,” Nakaayi said.
Other signings include Nakaweesa Viola acquired from Excel Soccer Academy in Gayaza and 20-year old Ada Abiine who joined on a free transfer.
Asubo Gafford Ladies fell short of advancing to the Women Super League after bowing to Tooro Queens (4-2) via penalty kicks during the promotional playoffs in November 2020 at the FUFA Technical Center – Njeru. The game had ended goalless in the normal time.
