Prof Kerali Found Dead at his Kololo Home

Prof. Anthony Kerali, a lecturer at Makerere University at the College of Engineering, Design, Art, and Technology (CEDAT), is dead.

Kerali, 59, reportedly collapsed and died at his residence on Plot 1 Prince Charles Drive Kololo, Kampala.

Kerali was an social media enthusiast who used his Twitter handle to educate the young people about Uganda’s political history.

According to a note from a neighbor, it is believed that most likely he could have died last night although it was found out this afternoon.

Prof. Anthony Kerali was an extremely smart Professor.

He single handedly started the department of Construction Management at Makerere University and has been running the largest programs in the College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology.

Kerali was born in 1962 at Erusi village, Otanyi sub-county in Nebbi district to the late Mzee Claudio Mamba Kerali and Zebia Kerali.

He studied a Bachelor’s Degree in Science in Civil Engineering at Makerere University, before going to Loughborough in the United Kingdom to study for a Master’s degree in Construction Economics.

He later graduated with a PhD at Warwick University in Material Science.

He is survived by two sons and a widow although he was living alone in Kololo.
