Morrison Rwakakamba, the Global Senior Director of Policy at Fenix International, has been appointed as advisor to the President of Bridges of Enterprise, a global entity that supports budding entrepreneurs.
Rwakakamba also doubles as the CEO of Agency for Transformation (AfT), a public policy think tank on agriculture, energy and environmental democracy.
“It’s an opportunity to tap into the global social entrepreneurs community to connect our young entrepreneurs to exchange ideas and build lasting business that scale beyond Uganda,” Rwakakamba told ChimpReports on Monday night.
“It’s for me an affirmation that real change to people’s lives will be driven by business,” he added.
Bridges of Enterprise says on its website that it empowers early stage social entrepreneurs to scale their ventures and expand their impact.
As Global Senior Director of Policy at Fenix International, a company of ENGIE, Rwakakamba is a member of the global senior leadership team.
He manages a team of policy professionals working with and engaging governments and off-grid sector stakeholders to create a conducive policy environment necessary to expand energy access across Africa and the globe.
He was elected by global energy industry leaders on the Board of Global Off-Grid Lighting Association (GOGLA), where he served as Vice President.
He is also currently serving as a Board Member of Uganda’s Investment Authority. Previously, Morrison served as the CEO of Uganda’s National Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Special Assistant to the President of the Republic of Uganda from 2013 to 2017, charged with public policy research and information to the Presidency.
Rwakakamba said the advisory appointment also is a “chance for me to continue activism for investors, private sector and call on governments to create environments that promote entrepreneurship.”
