Wakiso Giants Football Club head coach Douglas Bamweyana believes his team is ready to grind out positive results in the remaining games having polished some mistakes made inthe first round of the season.
Before the Uganda Premier League went into the break at the climax of the first round, the Purple Sharks had registered two wins, three defeats and registering ten draws from as many games.
Wakiso Giants will play host to Mbarara City on Friday at Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium when the league commences with matchday 16 and the gaffer is confident despite missing key players.
“Generally the whole team is available, we just have a few people missing and they’re the two suspended for four games following a non-fortunate incident in the Kitara game. We have a few people coming back from injuries and they’re good to go but not yet fit enough to probably play,” Bamweyana said.
Striker Viane Sekajugo was suspended for four games by FUFA Disciplinary Committee after his offensive verbal attacks towards match officials in the aftermath of the 3-2 defeat to Kitara at Kavumba recreation playground.
According to Bamweyana, midfielder Rahmat Senfuka got injured in the same game and Joins Lawrence Bukenya at the treatment table.
“But the rest are available and we are very happy and feeling confident coming into tomorrow game. We’ve probably had time to polish a few issues that we wanted to polish. Now I feel confident we should now get a good run of games and more consistent results,” the gaffer added.
The Purple Sharks are currently positioned 12th on the 16-team log with 16 points from 15 matches.
