Express FC head coach Wasswa Bossa has come out to credit his players for the teamwork following their 3-1 Uganda Premier League win against URA FC on Saturday.
Despite playing majority of the second half with a man down (Murushid Jjuuko’s was sent off in the 58th minute), the Red Eagles held on for a morale boosting home win at Wankulukuku.
“We are glad we managed to win our first game of the second round at home, the most important thing is that we prepared well. We managed to play even with 10 men but I think we used our chances very well and the boys played as a unit,” Bossa noted.
After an impressive return from the break, Bbosa now promises the spirited fight to carry onto the Uganda Cup.
Striker Eric Kambale scored twice and Godfrey Lwesibawa grabbed the other as the Red Eagles completed a League double over URA FC at the Mutesa II stadium. The reverse fixture at Bombo ended 0-1 in favour of the six time league winners.
Now on 35 points in the 3rd position on the log standings, Express will play against Kyetume in the Stanbic Uganda Cup on Tuesday at the FUFA Technical Center in Njeru.
