Newly promoted Uganda Premier League side Malabba Youth Development Association Football Club (MYDA FC) has sacked coach Abdul Samad Musafiri after a string of poor results.
By the time of his sacking, the CAF “B” licensed tactician had managed to register one win, three draws and 12 losses from 16 games of this 2020/21 UPL season.
Musafiri, the architect of MYDA’s elevation to the top tier, reportedly demands an amount of forty two million shillings (Shs 42m) as accumulated salary arrears for the previous two years.
He becomes the third Uganda Premier League coach to be sacked in a space of ten days after Mike Hilary Mutebi (Kampala Capital City Authority) and Alex Isabirye Musongola (Kyetume FC).
His assistant coach Elisa Madanda will now assume the head coach role on an interim basis as the flying Eagles search for a permanent Coach.
MYDA will play a doubleheader against FUFA Big League side Proline FC in the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 32 before visiting Mbarara City FC in the league next week at Kakyeka stadium.
