Ssimbwa, Anaku win March’s UPL accolades

URA FC head coach Sam Ssimbwa and KCCA FC striker Sadat Anaku have been voted as the best Uganda Premier League coach and player for the Month of March 2021 respectively.

Ssimbwa guided the four time champions to five wins in as many games during March, beating Express’ Wasswa Bbosa and Busoga United’s Abbey Kikomeko to the gong.

During March, Anaku who beat URA’s Steven Mukwala and Ssozi Shaka of Busoga United FC to the award scored six goals in five games including a hat trick and brace against Busoga United and UPDF respectively.

Both Ssimbwa and Anaku were rewarded with one million shillings each courtesy of the awards sponsors Pilsner Lager.

Pilsner Lager entered into a partnership with the Uganda Premier League to award the competition’s best players and coaches.

The awards are named ‘Pilsner man of the match award’ and the monthly awards named ‘Pilsner player of the month award’ and ‘Pilsner coach of the month award’.

The Pilsner man of the match walks away with one hundred thousand shillings (Ugx 100,000) after every match while monthly winners one million shillings each.
