Abdallah Mubiru, Police Football Club head coach has heaped praise on his ever-growing forward Derrick Kakooza whose ‘individual performance and character improves in each and every game’.
This followed Kakooza’s sublime performance as Police walloped UPDF FC 3-0 in the reverse fixture of Uganda Premier League at Lugogo on Wednesday, a game where Uganda Hippos’ starlet scored a double.
“Derrick is improving every single day, his character, he is positive and uses his body well, his touches are improving and the goals he scored are of a typical number nine. They were very hard to convert by an ordinary player and we just have to keep nurturing him and tell him to keep focused,” Mubiru noted.
Frank “Zaga” Tumwesigye netted the other goal as the 2005 League winners bagged maximum points at MTN Omondi stadium leapfrogging KCCA FC from the 4th on 31 points after 17 games.
“It was a hard game with some good performance and the scoring is also encouraging. I’m very happy with the players who were very positive in all aspects of the game and managed to put up a good show and we are so pleased with that,” the Uganda Cranes assistant coach added.
Police will pay a visit to 12th placed Busoga United (17 points) in their next game at the FUFA Technical Center- Njeru in Jinja on Saturday.
