Covid19: Church of Uganda Declares 4 Days of Fasting

1 Mins read

The church of Uganda has announced that tomorrow Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will be days set aside for prayers and fasting, seeking divine intervention as Uganda battles a deadly second wave of Covid19.

This was announced by the Archbishop of the Province of Church of Uganda His Grace Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu during the burial of the fallen North Kigezi Diocesan Bishop Rev Benon Magezi at Emmanuel Cathedral Kinyasano in Western Division Rukungiri Municipality on Friday June 18th 2021.

Kaziimba pointed out that in the Bible, once a calamity hit, Christians would gather and pray and the Lord would answer their prayers.

He said that during this period, Christians should devote time to pray and fast from their homes so that the country and the world as a whole can be saved from this evil situation of COVID-19.

Archbishop Mugalu encouraged Ugandans to follow standard operating procedures of Covid 19 as guided by the president and ministry of health.
