The New Mbarara Deputy Resident City Commissioner (RCC) Christopher Aine has disclosed that he regretted “associating with some of the opposition people. “
Aine said yesterday that some of the opposition figures “have personal agendas” and that he regretted working with them against President Yoweri Museveni in the past years.
“Some have grievances on their hearts against their bosses. Then they come up to misinform the public yet they are fighting for themselves and their families. Most of them are not fighting for the people,” Aine said.
Aine previously worked as the head of security of former Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi who had just broken ties with Museveni and decided to contest against him in the 2016 elections.
During the build up to the election, Aine went missing and rumors started circulating that he had died.
Police however, declared him a wanted man and put a Shs 10M bounty on his dead for an alleged assault incident in Ntungamo.
Later after the election, he surfaced at the residence of President Museveni’s brother Gen Salim Saleh in Nakaseke.
Aine confessed afterwards that it was his own decision to disappear because he feared for his life.
Since then he has been out of the news until this week when he was appointed Deputy RCC Mbarara District by President Yoweri Museveni.
