The Minister of State for Investments and Privatization, Evelyn Anite and the Uganda Investment Authority bosses on Friday paid a visit to the Fabrication Systems in Bweyogerere.
Anite was accompanied by the UIA Board Chairman, Morrison Rwakakamba and Director General, Robert Mukiza.
In his address, Mr. Mukiza said they have decided to make it a practice to start engaging investors in different sectors to better understand their aims and challenges.
“Today we are here at Fabricators Systems to hear from them the aspects to realize their dreams and also know the challenges they are facing,” said Mukiza.
The engagements aim at equipping the Uganda Investment Authority with the right information to offer tailored solutions to the investors according to Mukiza.
“It is important that we come out to meet with the investors so that we can offer solutions in real time,” he said.
Rwakakamba, on his part, said that it is a wider Government plan to ensure that all investors get the necessary support.
“One of our jobs as the Uganda Investment Authority is to ensure that all our investors have all the support that they need to realize their dreams. That’s what we do as the government- we support our investors,” said Rwakakamba.
The manufacturers have started making the badly required hospital beds. The COVID-19 pandemic has affected supplies in hospitals across the globe.
The hospital beds manufacturers appealed to the State Minister and UIA top officials to consider tax exemptions for them in order to produce the affordable ones.
